He was accepted in August, 1914, even though he was an Austrian Citizen

was angered that Germany surrendered

He thought that the Treaty of Versailles was degrading
After WWI, he returned to Munich to serve as an intelligence officer
adopted many of the anti-Semitic ideas while monitoring the DAP

He soon became the party's leader

Tried to take over the government in 1923
tried to do this through a putsch (it failed)
this was later called the Beer Hall Putsch
Hitler went to prison for 5 years because of this
During this time, he wrote Mein Kampf ("My Struggle")

On July 20, 1945, Hitler was almost assassinated
On April 29, 1945, Hitler married Eva Braun
The following day they committed suicide together
Hitler supposedly used a pistol/cyanide capsuls to commit suicide
