ADOLESCENCE AGE: 12-18

Teens need to develop a sense of self and personal identity. Success leads to an ability to stay true to yourself, while failure leads to role confusion and a weak sense of self.

Negative/Positive communication

• Adolescence seem to ofter emphasize problems.
• The school shooting, gang-violence, suicide involving teens etc. are too much in the newspaper.
• Adolescence is seen as a negative stage of life which is a period of stress.
• The survey said that at least 89% of the adolescence that took it believed that almost all teenagers can
• get back on track, with the right guidance and attention.

Negative/Positive communication

• The picture of adolescence today is largely a very positive one.
• Adolescence need adults and wont them to be apart of their lives, knowing
• that they can teach, guide, and protect them till adulthood.
• Adolescents has mental health problems likes depression suicide and drug abuse
• Adolescents simply do not open up to anyone.

Soft Skills

• When they go to the doctor and are depressed then they are sad
• When they talk to their mom with a attitude in their voice about something then they are mad
• There is a place over in Illinois that is a place for teenagers that just wanna get away from home

Generational issues with this stage

• Adolescence is more committed to see and live life on more independent
• Alcoholic, drugs abuse and smoking
• Dropping out of high school and college.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS SYSTEM

• I choose this because I really didn't know anything about adolescence
• or Erik-son's development stages

3 things i learned

• I learned that dues to the increase in brain matter, the teens brain
• becomes more interconnected and gains processing power.

3 things i learned

• Puberty around 11 year old for girls and 13 year old for boys
• which will change and they might hit puberty earlier then 11 and 13 years old

3 things i learned

• I didn't know that four out of ten adolescence felt miserable that they
• have cried and wanted to get away form everything and everyone.
