Objective: to be able to use and internalize literary techniques for the sake of future usage--particularly for senior project and other literary creations.
The Point of it All: Using literary devices will allow us to diversify our language and overall expression. Literary devices can make your writing more engaging and or beautiful--ultimately making your writing more enjoyable.
Metaphor: a resemblance of two contradictory or different objects, based on a single or some common characteristics. A metaphor develops a comparison which is different from a simile i.e. we do not use “like” or “as” to develop a comparison in a metaphor. It actually makes an implicit or hidden comparison and not an explicit one.
Our Task: using your fives senses (sight, touch, taste, smell, hearing) and the literary devices you've been given, create a passage about experiencing you favorite candy/snack.
