Why is bullfighting an important cultural tradition that must be preserved?

I believe that this question is very fitting for my topic because many people see bullfighting as bad and wrong. On the other hand bullfighting is a part of peoples culture. It is some peoples life style.
This is something they grew up around and they should have the same rights that we do. For example if your family has a tradition that you guys do every week but one day someone tries to take away your tradition away from you. How would you feel?

In the Article “ Bullfighting is a culture we must preserve” French Interior Minister Manuel Valls states why he is passionate and supportive of bullfighting. "It's something I love, it's part of my family's culture," said the minister who was born in Spain, where bullfighting is hugely popular, and moved with his family to France when he was a child
"It's a culture that we have to preserve," he told BFM news channel, adding that with France in the middle of economic crisis, it was important to maintain traditions. "We need these roots, we should not tear them out," he said.

I chose this article because I think it connects with my essential question very well. As the minister who enjoys bullfighting but also connects to it on a personal level he states reasons why it should be preserved. First it is part if HIS family culture it is part of who they are. Second every country struggles, with France going through everyday struggles and other things like economic crisis. The last thing to do is ban something that is part of their culture and takes them back to their roots. Lastly the minister is right. You can’t take away something that is that important and valuable to someone. We have no right to tell someone else that their culture should change the way they do things. The bullfighters don’t tell you what to do with your culture so we can try and control theirs.
