PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE DREADFUL ACT

Made by Me(tips credited to my friend)

Okay! 😎
1. The ACT doesn't determine how smart you are
2. It DOES NOT determine your worth as a student or individual
3. It is a standardized test, national average is 20 (love yaself)

READING📖

  • !!!! Time management is everything ¡¡¡¡¡
  • Skim over the passage (unless you're Usain Bolt)
  • Read the first paragraph and the first 1 or 2 sentences of each remaining paragraph, then the conclusion paragraph
  • Should be enough to know the jist of it.

??ENGLISH???

  • 35 SECONDS PER QUESTION
  • SO, .... Read underlined portion and then read a sentence before or after it to able to answer the question
  • Again, don't read the whole passage.
  • Basically unnecessary and wastes your time

!!!!!

  • DONT BE AFRAID TO USE OMIT AS AN ANSWER!!!OMIT IS RIGHT 60% OF THE TIME
  • The ACT wants clear, concise, and relevant. Sometimes very wordy answers seem best, but if it can be shortened or said using less words: PICK THAT ANSWER. WORDY ANSWERS ARE WRONG.

MATHHHH✖️➕➖➗

  • 1 minute per question!!¡'
  • SKIP EVERYTHING YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO DO IT. DO IT L8tr
  • Don't waste time on questions that are hard for you. Hence, answer easy questions firssstt.
  • USE YOUR CALCULATOR. MAKE EDUCATED GUESSES.

MORE MATH TIPS (YASS)

  • Backsolve!!! Asfegfjkla
  • Sometimes this is faster than working it out. Just pick answers and plug them into equation. (Always start at the middle answer! It will help you decide if the preceding or later answers are right. Then you can eliminate wrong answer choices)
  • Review over formulas but don't burn your brain pls

SCIENCE 🔬

  • Piece of 🍰!!!
  • 52 seconds per question
  • When it asks about comparing views, read one POV first and answer questions pertaining to it and then the next! Then once you've done that for both answer the questions regarding both views.

📈🔬📈

  • Sometimes answers might seem right because they talk about stuff that wasn't mentioned in the passage and they sound scientifical. DONT PICK THOSE. They're wrong. The answers won't have anything to do with the passage.

TONIGHT 🌚🌝

  • Sleeepppp. Go to bed early but not earlier than you usually do.
  • In the morning, dress comfortably (duh) bring a jacket ❄️
  • Eat a filling breakfast, but if you don't normally just eat a granola bar or something I guess

DURING THE ACT
BE CALM AND CONFIDENT, YOU ARE READY FOR THIS, PEOPLE BELIEVE IN YOU N STUFF !!!
If you lose focus or get frustrated etc. STOP FOR 30 SECONDS AND BREATHE. just relax

LIFE HACK: HYDRATE

After the ACT
CELEBRATE. CONGRATULATE YOURSELF! REWARD YOURSELF! You deserve it
