About the blog

Why A Chapter Per Day?
I created this slide show to tell you a little about why I'm doing what I'm doing on my blog (http://achapterperday.wordpress.com/). If you have any questions when you are done, feel free to email me at spinkickers@gmail.com.

What is this anyway?

The title is pretty accurate

  • I write about one chapter of the Bible every day
  • There are 1189 chapters
  • That is a little over three years
  • I am going to try to be honest with you
  • I won't pretend I have all the answers
The Bible is a big book, and even though I have read through it before, I know that there are parts that I did not actively engage with. By taking the chapters one of the time, I really can't gloss over very much. Every chapter will receive the attention it deserves.

Who am I writing this for?

  • Either you are a Christian reader…
  • In which case, I hope to help you grow
  • Or you are not a Christian reader…
  • I hope I can answer your questions
  • I am glad to have you both here.
I guess I am supposed to have a target audience, but if you came here, I want you to gain something of value. It makes my target audience pretty broad. The Bible is pretty important stuff, and I believe it can be good for everyone. Either you already understand why it is valuable, or you are trying to find it out if you ended up on my site.

i write this every day for two reasons

I want to be accountable

  • It is easy to slack off when no one is watching
  • You help me stay motivated
  • Also, you can keep me theologically accountable
  • You can catch me if I slip up
  • You can keep me true to the Bible
I want your support. I want you to go on this journey with me, and I don't want to go off the deep end. I want to be faithful to the Bible and truly honor the word of God. You all play a large part in that process, and as my readers, we can all grow together.

I want to glorify God

  • I have some degree of writing ability
  • Writing can glorify God
  • He gave me this talent
  • I should use it for spreading the Gospel
  • I feel this is my calling
After reading Not a Fan by Kyle Idleman, I was convicted to serve God wherever, whenever and with whatever He told me to do. For some reason, writing this blog came to mind, and I felt like it was something I had to do. I started writing this before my senior year of college. I knew I was adding one more thing to my already overwhelming schedule, but it was what I saw I needed to do. If I was going to live by those first three principles and glorify God, I needed to do what He was calling me to do.

Any questions?

I seriously mean that. If you want to get in touch with me, I welcome emails and am generally pretty good about replying within a day or so. You can also always comment on any of my pieces, and I try to respond promptly to them as well.
