CELLS VS VIRUSES

CAN/DO CELLS/HUMAN BODY FIGHT VIRUSES

BASIC INFORMATION

  • Virus is a small infectious agent that replicates only inside the living cells of other organisms

T-CELLS

T cells ARE A TYPE OF LYMPHOCYTE (ITSELF A WHITE BLOOD CELL)THAT PLAY A CENTRAL ROLE CELL MEDIATED IMMUNITY

HOW DO OUR BODY FIGHT VIRUSES

  • Antibodies are a special protein made by B cell.
  • Antibodies bind to viruses so they don't replicate and help white blood destroy them
  • T cells have different roles to play, raise the alarm when they detect them and some kill cells directly

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A VIRUS ENTERS A CELL?

THE CELL BECOMES A VIRUS BREEDING MACHINE THE VIRUS TAKES OVER THE CELL AND USES IT TO MAKE MORE VIRUSES

Can human body/cELLS FIGHT VIRUSES

  • YES
  • NO
  • MAYBE
  • MAYBE NOT
