  • He was the well known leader of the Nazi party.
  • Much like his father, he was a short tempered, evil, but charasmatic man.
  • Days before defeat, and to avoid trial, he killed himself.
  • He started World War I

BLACK PLAGUE

COMMUNISM

  • This is an economic system developed by Karl Marx.
  • It is supposed to be a classless society where production is owned by the people.

D DAY

  • This was a major event of world war II.
  • The invasion was given a code called "Overlord"
  • Then was a disperse of 100,000 soldiers.

ENLIGHTENMENT

  • This was a promotes intellectual interchange.
  • They discarded the church's thoughts.
  • Its writing inspired the American and French revolution.

FOURTEEN POINTS

  • This is a negotiation of Germany's defeat.
  • This was also used to fix issues between Europe and Turky.
  • This was suggest by U.S president Woodrow Wilson.

GENGHIS KHAN

  • He is the leader of the mongols who invaded east Asia.
  • He was a military and ploitical genius.
  • He even united mongols and nomadic tribes into a effective army.

HUMMURABI'S CODE

  • This was Mesopotamia's first written laws.

INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

  • This period started in England in the 18th and 19th century.
  • Economic growth, along with improved communications and social structure came to pass.
  • One example of improvement is James Watt and his invention, the steam engine.

JAMES WATT

  • He is a Scottish engineer from the 18th century.
  • He played a major role in the industrial revolution.
  • He also made made important discoveries in chemistry.

KARL MARX

  • He became interested in the Hegelian philosophy and studied at university.
  • He id the one who wrote "Communist Manifesto"

LEAGUE OF NATIONS

  • This happened after world war I.
  • After the trouble with the Treaty of Versaille, many looked to the L.O.N.

MONARCHY (ABSOLUTE)

  • Absolutes are kings and queens that believe all power in their territory rests in their hands.
  • This is also known as Divine Rights "the rights from God".

NEOLITHIC REVOLUTION

  • This was a period of farm shifting in the new Stone Age.
  • Instead of hunting and gathering, they discovered agriculture.

OTTOMAN EMPIRE

  • These are documents or objects written on or made within that time period.
  • Example of primary sources are the Steam engine and The Declaration of independence.

QUETZALCOATL

  • The serpent like God of the Aztecs.
  • He is the god of books, learning, and writing.
  • As Hernan Cortez came to the Aztec village, the Emperor, Montezuma II, believed that Cortez was Quetzalcoatl.

RENAISSANCE

  • In Italy, this term means "rebirth" of culture.
  • This period was an explosion of literature, science, and the arts.

SCIENTIFIC REVOLUTION

  • This was the period of scientific inquiry.
  • They rejected the ideals of the Carholic Church.
  • They believed in new ideas.

TOTALITARIAN

  • This form of government came after World War II.
  • This is basically a government that does not allow parties of differing opinion.

UNITED STATES

  • This nation existed for 220 years
  • Gained independence from Britain in 1776.
  • To this day, it remains a international super power.

VLADIMIR LENIN

  • Lenin was born on april 27, 1870 in Simbirsk, Russia.
  • He was one the charismatic political leaders of the early 20th century.
  • He is also a guiding force behind the emergence of the Soviet Union.

WORLD WAR I

  • This was the first industrial war ever known.
  • It lasted from1914 to 1918, which is four years.
  • This is also known as the Great War.

XENOPHOBIA

  • This is a term describing a fear or hatred of foreigners.
  • Adolf hitler had xenophobia against jews.

YALTA CONFERENCE

  • This was a meeting to resolve world war II.
  • The war ended with a bombing of Japan.
