A - ADAMS.

SAMUEL ADAMS WAS THE PERSON WHO ORGANIZED THE SONS OF LIBERTY AND INFLUENCED MANY PEOPLE TO BECOME PATRIOTS.

B - BRITISH.

THE BRITISH WERE THE PEOPLE OPPOSING THE THIRTEEN COLONIES INDEPENDENCE. AT FIRST THEY OWNED THE COLONIES UNTIL THE COLONIES REBELLED.

C - Coercive Acts

The Coercive Acts was punishment for the Boston Tea Party. British Soldiers were sent back to Boston and General Thomas Gage was put in charge. Also the port of Boston was closed.

D - Declaration of Independence

The Declaration of Independence was the document that declared why the colonies wanted independence. Congress approved the Declaration on July 4th, 1776.

E - Ethan Allen

Ethan Allen was the leader of the Green Mountain Boys (a militia group) and he helped capture Fort Ticonderoga.

F - First Continental Congress

A Meeting of representatives from each colony to discuss issues.

G - George Washington

George Washington was the commander of the Continental Army during the Revolution.

H - Hancock, John

President of Second Continental Congress. First person to sign Declaration of Independence.

I - Infantry

Infantry was the uniforms the soldiers wore.

J - Jefferson, Thomas

Main writer of the Declaration of Independence and member of the Continental Congress.

K - Knox, Henry

Continental army leader who brought captured British cannons from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston.

L - Lexington

Lexington is the place where the battle of Lexington happened. It is in Massachusetts.

M - Militias

Militias are volunteer armies.

N - Nathanael Greene

Patriot General during the Revolution.

O - Olive Branch Petition

Letter sent by the Second Continental Congress to King George III in 1775 in attempt to avoid war.

P - parliament

Britain's law making assembly.

Q - Quartering Act

Colonists were ordered to house and feed British soldiers.

R - Revere, Paul

Patriot that warned people the British were coming.

S - Saratoga

The Battle of Saratoga was the turning point in the war. The British surrendered and this showed the Colonies had a chance of winning the war.

T - Tea Act

Colonists were only allowed to buy tea from the East India Tea.

U - United States

THE COUNTRY WE BECAME!!

V - Valley Forge

After Saratoga, Washington's army stayed her during the winter. More than 2,500 men died here of hunger, cold, and disease.

W - Washington, Martha

George Washington's Wife. She helped by cooking, delivering food, and visiting wounded soldiers.

X - Xmas.

The day Washington's army crossed the Delaware River.

Y - Yorktown

The Battle of Yorktown ended the war. General Cornwallis surrendered.

Z - Zealous Minutemen

A group of Minutemen that would be armed and ready to fight when called.
