A is for Benidict Arnold.
He was a traitor. He had said that he was on our side but he lied and killed many people.

B is for Boston massacre. This fight built the tensions. It also made the two sides even more mad at each other.

C is for continental congress. They came together to make an army. They were preparing for a fight.

D is for Declaration of Independence. This document announced the dividing of the 13 colonies from Great Britain. But there was still many years after this of fighting to defeat Britain and get their freedom.

E is for Ethan Allen. He was an American rev. War patriot. He was known for one of the founders of Vermont. He captured fort Ticonderoga.

F is for French and Indian war. It took place may 29, 1774. It was when the British,French, and native Americans fought for control of a large part of North America.

G is for George Washington. He was chosen to command the continental army during the rev. War. He was also the first president of the U.S.A.

H is for Henry Knox. He was sent by General Washington to capture cannons. This was a hard job because some of them weighed over 2 tons.

I is for intolerable acts.They took place on 1774. It was when the laws passed by Britain British Parliament to punish the people of Boston following the Boston tea party.

J is for Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the United States 1801 through 1809. He was also a member of the Continental Congress and the main writer of the Declaration of Independence

K is for Thaddeus Koscuiszka.Tadeusz Kosciuszko was a skilled engineer with a military education by the time he arrived in the American colonies from Poland in 1776. Offering his services to the revolutionary cause, he masterminded a key British defeat at Saratoga and oversaw the building of military fortifications at West Point.

L Is for loyalists. The loyalists fled to Quebec to get to England. They started the social revolution.

M is for minutemen. They were ready in a minutes notice to fight. They were willing to fight for their country whenever they were needed to.

N is for Nathan Hale. Spy and a soldier in the continental army. He was captured by the British and hung for trying to get their information.

O is for Ohio river valley. It was given to the British citizens of Quebec which angered the American revolutionaries and the 13 colonies.

P is for Thomas Paine. Wrote common sense. Was a founding father of the U.S. He also inspired the American revels to declare independence.

Q is for Quebec, Canada. Loyalists to England fled here. Also there was a war here.

R is for Paul Revere. He announced that the British were coming during the battle.

S is for Stamp Act.The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament on March 22, 1765. The new tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used.

T is for the Treaty of Paris. it was signed in Paris by representatives of King George III of Great Britain and representatives of the United States of America on September 3, 1783. Also it ended the American Revolutionary War.

U is for U.S.A. It was America v Britain. We became free and it was then called the New England.

V is for valley forge. It was in Pennsylvania and it was the military camp for the continental army. This took place over the winter of 1777-1778.

W is for William Prescott. Was an American colonel that commanded the rebel forces in the battle of bunker hill.

X is of x-treme winters. Which they had all the time. It made it hard to fight. Their supplies were low so people got sick.

Y is for Yorktown. On a day in 1781 a very important battle began here. The battle was called the battle of Yorktown. Washington's 17,000 were fighting General Lord Charles Cornwallace along with his 9,000 troops. This was the most important battle in the American Revolution.

Z is for zealous. The patriots were zealous during the fight. Zealous means to be dedicated, committed, and passionate.
