TRUST TECHNOLOGY

JUST REMEMBER TO VERIFY
This shot, from the health app on my iPhone, shows that, on my last visit to Wellington, just over a month ago, I climber 54 flights of steps in a day! I didn't of course - or I would be buried here. Instead it really shows the change in air pressure caused by the wind for which Wellington is famous. The message here for the users of technology is to make sure you know what you are measuring and thus managing.

SCOPE

  • An Australian story
  • Better together
  • Buying clouds
  • Open source success
  • Digital transformation
This is the scope of today's presentation.

AN AUSTRALIAN STORY

WHOLE OF GOVERNMENT ICT
The Australian Government ICT environment reflects the Government's election commitments and subsequent developments. Because it has elements that are peculiar to Australia, one should be careful about seeking to apply lessons more widely and I am cautious not to be seen as preaching to our cousins across the ditch. Of course though, the notion that any of us are 'special' in the context of ICT needs to be managed carefully.
