PRESENTATION OUTLINE

A LOSS MAY BE A GAIN

A LESSON ON LOOKING AT EVERY SIDE TO A SITUATION RETOLD BY: DEREK TILLER

Long ago near the frontier in northern China, lived an old man.

One day, the old man awoke to find his horse had run away.

But when the old man's neighbors came to comfort him, he said, "it may turn out to be a good thing."

The next morning, the old man awoke to find his horse had returned with another beautiful horse.

But when the old mans neighbors came to congratulate him, he said, "it may turn out to be a bad thing."

The next day, the old man was bucked off his new horse while training it.

He could never walk correctly again.

As the old man's neighbors helped him, all that he said was, "it may be for the best."

Later that year, a Great War began in China.

Every man was required to fight.

The old man however, did not have to fight due to his injury.

The war lasted many many years...

And many people were killed.

But the old man lived out the rest of his life happily with his horses.
