Your Audience

During The First 3 points

5 cents per day

The cost of changing your habits
In his book Scott relays a story about how to grow more successful. I asked him to share the story with the Platform Giant audience.

Put 5 pennies in your right pocket.

As you do something outside of your comfort zone, move a penny from your right pocket to your left pocket.

It serves as a reminder when you want to cultivate a new habit. You can use as a way to:

Do something outside of your comfort zone
As a reminder to be nice for others
Create any new habit.

Trust

Will You Do what you said?  Will you stay in your lane?
Presentations are about building and maintaining trust. Your job as a presenter is to maintain that trust.

The same type of trust that keeps us in our lanes on the freeway is the same trust that we have as a speaker. As long as we do what we’re supposed to, everything works. If we break the trust (get out of our lane) it makes a mess for everyone.

We must remember that when we present, we shouldn't waste people’s time

Respect the process

Content Design Deliver
As speakers we must respect the process of creating

Content
Design
Delivery

You have to pay attention to all of them and make sure that your congruent throughout the process. Don’t put too much emphasis on any one part

Best Advice Scott Received About Audiences

The best advice Scott ever received was to remember that half the audience are introverts and half are extroverts. Construct your content to appeal to both.
