PRESENTATION OUTLINE

90-Second Pitch

Thomas Collins

I want to learn AND create

  • I want to learn how to use TinkerCad to build a tiny house to scale.
  • I want to create a design that I can show off using TinkerCad software on a Chromebook.
  • I want the ability to print the design using a 3D printer just in case this project turns out to be something I have a chance to build in real life.

Thick Question

What would happen if I used TinkerCad to design a house?

The materials I'll need are...

  • I'll need the Internet and access to TinkerCad through my Chromebook Apps.
  • I'll need a reliable computer.
  • I'll need books on tiny homes to find design inspiration, YouTube videos for help with TinkerCad basics, and actual TinkerCad lessons.

Why I chose this...
I chose this project passion because I'm very interested in tiny houses. TinkerCad is a program that can help me design a tiny house to scale using 3D printing software.

3 Obstacles

  • There might be technical issues from time-to-time. That happens on occasion with technology.
  • I could get frustrated and want to quit. Or...I might say the dreaded phrase, "That's good enough."
  • I might need more time than what I have in M.S. Media.

This project is worthy of my time.

When I was a kid there wasn't much money, so we had to make our own fun with what we had. I remember getting a refrigerator box and pretended it was a real house.

Ever since I was a kid, I thought about how we only needed the basics to be happy. And really...if I could be happy pretending a box was a house, a spaceship, car, and so many other things...I figured that we didn't need much as adults.

Now that I am an adult, I know that statement to be true. We DON'T need much. People are only temporarily happy with stuff...They usually only like their phones, tablets, and devices until a newer version comes out. I'm different. I think differently. Tiny homes are also different.

I want to design a tiny house that has everything I need...only the basics. Well...plus some of the luxuries for entertainment. I want to hold it in my hands and see what my mind has the ability to accomplish.

I am glad to have the chance to research and work on something like this, and I hope my students can think about what makes THEM want to follow their passions as well.

Thank you!

Your time and attention is valuable.
