Briggs vs. Elliot

An all black Clarendon County school asked for a school bus from the county. They were denied. The school bought a beat up bus and asked for the county to pay for maintenance and gas on it. The county laughed
in their face. The school sued them and the case went to the Supreme Court.

Brown vs. Board of
Education

This case became one big case, combining with Briggs vs. Elliot and four other cases outside the state. This big case ended segregation in schools. The case started out as a young African - American girl having to ride a bus a hour and a half one way when there were over 3 white schools within walking distance. Her parents took this problem to the next level to receive an answer.

The Orangeburg Massacre took place in Orangeburg, SC on February 8, 1968. After a protest of a group of black college students outside of an all white bowling rink the anger spilled over to a party the next weekend. The state police were called in to monitor the situation. Self Evaluation
I believe that I deserve an A on this project because I spent lots of time researching and making sure my facts were correct. I have lots of great information in this power point that many people could use for a study tool and use for a test or quiz. Not only can this power point be useful to others, but I also learned from it. I hope you see the wonderful work that has been completed here.
