Chapter 8
Karana and Ramo talked about being the king of Ghalas-at. The next morning Karana went searching around the island. She came back and found her brother dead with dogs standing around him.

Chapter 9
Karana spends time gathering resources to survive on the island. She also makes weapons to kill the wild dogs.

Chapter 10
Karana leaves the Island of the Blue Dolphins to embark on a journey to get to where her people went but cannot make it and has to return to the island.

Chapter 11
Karana wakes up on the beach after the boat ride. Karana starts to make preparations to build her house.

Chapter 12
Karana gathers supplies for her house and starts to have to kill animals for food.

Chapter 13
Karana sets out to get a sea elephant but while she is about to kill them two of them engage in a huge battle.

Chapter 14
Karana makes preparations to kill the wild dogs

Chapter 15
Karana tries to kill the wild dogs and their leader but instead ends up befriending the leader.
