  • He was credited with establishing the Senate.

Numa Pompilius(715-673)BC

The Second King

Numa Facts

  • He built the temple of Janus.
  • He is credited for putting religion into the world.
  • He is credited for making the calendar with 12 months, instead of 10.
  • He is also credited for establishing the boundaries of Rome.
  • He was the second king of Rome.

Tullus Hostilius(673-641)BC

The Third King

Tullus Hostillius

  • He was a hostile leader.
  • His Grandfather was the first to strike in the war between the Sabine and the Romans.
  • He was a Latin man
  • He is credited with building the Curia Hostilia.
  • He defeated the Albans and destroyed Alba Longa .

Ancus Marcius(641-616)BC

The Fourth King

Ancus Facts

  • He defeated the "Old Latins."
  • He is credited with building the first ever aqueduct.
  • He is also credited for making the way Romans declare war.
  • His first act as king was to order the Pontifex Maximus to copy the text concerning the performance of public ceremonies of religion from the commentaries of Numa Pompilius to be displayed to the public, so that the rites of religion should no longer be neglected or improperly performed.
  • He is credited with establishing the port Ostia.

  • He had been a friend of Ancus Marcius.

  • He is credited with building the Temple of Diana.
  • He added the Quirinal, Viminal, and Esquiline hills to Rome.
  • He made it so the highest ranking centuries or classes got to vote first and thus their vote was worth more.
