Allah (a-la)
God in Arabic
The Muslim pray to Allah five times a day.

Islam (is-lahm)
The second largest religion and... Growing.
I believe in the Islam religion.

Sunnis (sun-ees)
They were followers of Muhammad's example.

He became Sunni because he followed Muhammad's examples.


Mosque (maw-sk)

A building used for Muslim worship, it was faced toward Mecca, so they could pray in its direction.

The group of girls and boys prayed and worshiped in the mosque.

Sunnah (su-nah)

Muhammad's words and deeds, for proper living.

Many families read the Sunnah to learn how to live their lives properly, according to Muhammad.

Shi'a (sea-a)

Was one of the groups that split in the Muslim community. They were known as the Shiites.

Few Muslims broke joined the Shi'a.

Caliph (Kay-lihf)

It is a title that means successor. It also means it is the head of the state or title of the ruler.
