Speciation

  • An evolution of a new species
  • from a existing species.

THE STEPS OF SPECIATION ARE....

  • Separation
  • Adaptation
  • Division
  • Or S.A.D

1. SEPARATION

  • Species are separated by some kind
  • of geographic boundary.

An example of a separation are two different types of squirrels that are separated from a canyon.

2. Adaptation

  • Populations change as individuals
  • better adapted to new conditions
  • to survive and reproduce.

The squirrels that were separated from the canyon, have to adapt to there new environment.

3. DIVISION

  • Two genes population are so different
  • that they can no longer interbreed.

The squirrels that were separated from the canyon can't divide because they were separated and adapted.
