PRESENTATION OUTLINE
6. What have you learned about the technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Through the construction of my media product, I came across a lot of new media technologies that I had no knowledge about before hand.
The first of all of them, was the creation of my blog on www.Wordpress.com were I uploaded all of my media work in the run up to my magazine.
This allowed me to create a learning journey starting with Preliminary Task leading to completion of my very own music magazine. At first I found the navigation and controlling of the site a little confusing however, over time I learned how to manage everything correctly.
The next technology I came across was Prezi. Although I had used it in the last in previous school years, I utilised it in a lot more depth this year in Media Studies, creating a customising my own themes to how I want.
I really enjoyed the freedom of this presentation software. I liked how you could lay your ideas down in a fun and creative way whilst still having it organised.
In addition to that, a new technology I was introduced to was Animoto. Here I made a short video to show what type of magazine Beatz would be, using images, texts and sounds.
I found this very enjoyable as I found images, went through sound bites and selected my fonts to begin the moulding of what would become my music magazine.
I was always aware of photoshop although I had never used it in much detail. My preliminary task allowed me to learn a bit about it however it wasn't until my music magazine construction that I got into detail about it.
Photoshop was a major factor in the making of my magazine, allowing me to edit my photos until they were exactly how I wanted them to be, down to constructing my text and layout on the programme.
Here I was introduced to the world of airbrushing, the spot healing tool, duplication tool and a lot more!
As I was creating my double page spread, I used a programme called 'in design.' I found In Design very difficult as I was used to photoshop although I finally got they hang of it in the creation of my DPS.
I liked for In Design had a 'preview' option that allowed you to see what your product would look like if it was printed, without having to print it.
In the final process of my media studies work, I was introduced to Powtoon and Haiku Deck (where we are now).
Here I created my evaluation on parts of my media studies portfolio. I really enjoyed Using Powtoon as it was similar to creating a cartoon type presentation and I really enjoyed all the different features.
