ulysses GRANT

  • Grant was born on April 27th, 1822
  • July 1861, Ulysses was promoted a Brigadier General of the Civil war
  •  Ulysses was given command of the district of  South East Missouri 
  • Ulysses had triumphs at Fort Henry and at Fort Donelson in 1862
  • Ulysses Grant died July 23rd, 1885

winfield s. hancock

  • Hancock was born February 14, 1824
  • He was promoted a Brigadier General on September 23, 1861
  • His most famous service was in the Battle of Gettysburg 
  • He alslo took part in the Battle of Williamsburg and the Battle of Antietam
  • Hancock died on February 9th 1886

abraham lincoln

  • Lincoln was born on February 12th, 1809 
  • Lincoln was the president of the Union during the civil war
  • His goal was to reunite the nation
  • He pushed the Congress to pass the 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery 
  • Lincoln died on April 14th, 1865

George Thomas

  • Thomas was born on July 31st, 1816
  • Thomas was appointed instructor of cavalry and artillery
  • He was offered a job by the confederacy, but turned it down
  • Later on, he commanded the department of the Cumberland in Kentucky
  • Thomas died March 28th 1870

Josh L. chamberlain

  • Chamberlain was born on September 8, 1828
  • He was part of a group called the 20th Maine Regiment 
  • He was voted the lieutenant colonel of the 20th Maine Regiment
  • He fought in the Battle of Fredericksburg and the Battle of Gettysburg
  • Chamberlain died on February 24, 1914
