INCISION

  • An incision wound is a cut in the skin caused by a sharp object.
  • Treattment: change dressing and clean the dressing if doctor told you to do so.

LACERATION

  • A laceration is injury to the skin that results in the skin being cut or torn open.
  • Treatment: examining, cleaning, and closing the wound

ABRASION

  • An abrasion wound is a type of wound in which the skin is rubbed or scraped off.
  • Treatments: clean the cut and stoo the bleeding

CONTUSION

  • A contusion is a kind of closed wound, meaning that the skin is not broken.
  • Treatment: therapy

  • A puncture wound is created when a sharp object enters the skin.
