1. WHY do they WANT It?

Desire motivates.
You buy because you want to, and so does everyone else.

All the logic in the world doesn't matter, if you don't trigger "WANT!"

Ask yourself why your audience wants what you're promoting.

2. use two building blocks.

The vital two: the headline and the Call to Action.
Make writing easy. Focus on the two vital building blocks of your copy: the headline, and the Call to Action (CTA.)

Small ads only have these two building blocks. Long sales letters have many more. Writing other blocks is easy when you have the vital two.

3. You, you, you...

Forget "I".
Good copy is transparent. Words vanish and the emotional connection takes over.

Use the second person pronoun "you" to make that emotional connection.

4. Why now?

Give them a shove.
Sales work because they end. You know that when your audience thinks "later"; they mean "never".

WHY should they buy NOW? Answer that question in your copy.

5. Think Visually.

Tell stories.
Use stories when you're writing longer copy. Everyone loves a story, and a happy ending.

Paint pictures with words, or source images which create an emotional connection.

Remember, we all buy because of our emotions.
