Plants weather Earth by digging there roots in the soil or cement causing cracks in cement or brick. If your driveway had lots of vegetation you would have to replace your concrete a lot.

Abrasion causes rocks t like this to form. The sand in this case blows on the sides of the rock causing the sand to go away and the rock to stand almost as if it were balancing.

Due to the release of pressure the rocks surface will crack. This looks kind of like peeling an onion.

When water seeps into the air pockets of a rock and freeze the rock will break. It will break because the ice expands and it causes it to crack.
