So, how exactly

has technology helped CGI and Animation?

The magic lantern was designed so that you could slide a picture in front of a lens projecting the image.

As technology advanced, cinematography became more and more popular.

Inventions, like the multi-plane camera made animation much easier to create.

The multi-plane camera was invented by Walt Disney's engineers.

The multi-plane camera had a multiple of trays that held different scenes. The camera then combined the scenes creating an animation.

The multi-plan camera was also shrunk down to a smaller and more efficient version.

So we've learned...

  • CGI was created by a computer genius named Ivan Sutherland.
  • The first fully animated movie was Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, which became most profitable movie of the year.
  • The first fully COMPUTER animated movie was Toy Story.
  • Technology, like the multi-plane camera helped create better animation and CGI.
