Fra Filippo Lippi was born in Florence to Tommaso. His parents died when he was a child. In June 1456 living in Prato to paint frescoes in the choir of the cathedral.
He was born in Florence to Tommaso on June 23, 1406. And died on October 8, 1469, In Spoleto, Italy
FACTS
- When he was still a small child both his parents died
- Lippi was inspired to become a painter by watching Masaccio at work
- He was captured by Barbary pirates and kept as a slave
- In 1457 he was appointed commendatory Rector
- Filippo Lippi died in 1469 while working on the frescoes of Scenes of the Life of the Virgin Mary

He was an english portrait and landscape painter, draughtsman, and printmaker. He surpassed his rival Sir Joshua Reynolds to become the dominant British portraitist of the second half of the 18th century.
He was born on 14 May 1727 in Sudbury, Suffolk, England. He died on 2 August 1788 in London, England.

- In 1746, Gainsborough married Margaret Burr.
