We propose that the United States of America legalizes the growth, selling, and consumption of marijuana.

It has been an ongoing debate for several years that marijuana should be legalized and states such as Colorado and Washington have already legalized the drug.

Benefits

1.The government will receive more revenue by taxing the new commerce

2.It will cut down the amount of drug related crime

3. It will boost the economy with millions in revenue

Congress has the power to collect taxes and regulate commerce

The 28th amendment

Section 1: The growing, selling, and consumption of marijuana is legal in the United States and it's territories.

Section 2: The Legislative branch will have the power to regulate and tax the commerce.

Section 3: The state governments can decide what age their citizens can legally buy and consume marijuana.

Since states such as Washington and Colorado have already legalized marijuana, there has been a push by advocates to legalize it in several more. The use of medical marijuana is also being pushed by advocates in a majority of the states.
