The 23rd dynasty was founded when the royal house of the 22nd dynasty split in two and ruled together, but after a period of time conflict broke out and the 23rd dynasty took over the Delta, Middle Egypt, and the God's State of Thebes.

This dynasty ended the way it began, in chaos, with the decline of ancient Egypt beliefs and threats from foreign countries.
