HEZEKIAH KING OF JUDAH

• Jerusalem was surrounded by the Assyrians led by Sennacherib
• Although King Hezekiah already paid tribute to Sennacherib, still, he did not want to leave Jerusalem
• Hezekiah humbled himself before the Lord and prayed
• God delivered Jerusalem from Assyria
• God fulfilled His promise of deliverance

ASSYRIANS

• Sennacherib boasted about his conquests and armies
• He mocked the True Living God
• The war was no longer between the Assyrians and Hezekiah, but between the Assyrians and God
• His angel killed their armies during the night and Sennacherib returned home
• Sennacherib was killed by his sons

ATTITUDE DURING SPIRITUAL WARFARE

• What/who is the giant in your life now? Why is it bigger than your faith?
• Are we worried, scared, hopeless, restless? Do our minds play out scenarios? It’s the work of satan to shake our faith in God. Satan is manipulative dan deceitful.
• Are we hopeful, resilient, unshakeable? It’s the Holy Spirit’s work in us that gives us hope and peace.
• Lay it out before God and ask Him for His wisdom to understand
• Sing and praise Him even louder

NOTE TO SELF

• God is far bigger than the giant before us
• Remember His goodness, understand that He is always good
• Boast in Him, come with praise and thanksgiving for He is our Rock, our Fortress in the middle of the storm
• Stop obsessing over our problems, focus on who God is
• Pray that people will see how great God is through our trials
• All for the sake of His glory, not because we’ve done a good job and we deserve a rescue
