In 2017-18, Ames Community Schools will increase the proficiency of students self-identified as Black or African American in:
1. Reading as measured on the Iowa Assessments (more than 62.62%).
2. Mathematics as measured on the Iowa Assessments (more than 57.75%).
3. Science as measured on the Iowa Assessments (more than 57.01%).
In order to meet the district goal of more than 82.49% of our 8th grade students being proficient in Reading, AMS students will become better consumers of information through identifying key ideas and use of vocabulary.
In order to meet the district goal of more than 83.49% of our 6th grade students being proficient in Mathematics, AMS students will become better consumers of information through identifying key ideas and use of vocabulary.
In order to meet the district goal of more than 85.34% of our 7th grade students will be proficient in Science, AMS students will become better consumers of information through identifying key ideas and use of vocabulary.
