PRESENTATION OUTLINE

INFORMATION

  • 1776 was written by Peter Stone
  • lyrics and music were written by Sherman Edwards.
  • On Broadway twice once in 1969, and again in 1997 at the Gershwin theater

Concept
1776 is about John Adams urging congress to declare independence and getting his colleagues to sign the Declaration of Independence

If I had the chance to direct this play I would have it as a tour in the original thirteen colonies because I think it would look super patriotic

I think that it would be best if it could tour around high schools and small theaters. I think The cost for the tickets at the theatre should be about $7 for youth and $15 for adults while the high school tour will be free

T

This play was based on actual historical events that is important to for young people to know about how we gained our independence

COSTUMES

  • late 17th century costumes for men and women of wealth.
  • Probably going to be the most expensive

SET

  • This show could essentially be a one set show
  • With that in mind I would want to focus most on the costumes
  • Set will probably be the cheapest part

Budget
My estimate for the budget is $50 Thousand focused mostly for costumes and props
