15TH AMENDMENT

BY: KIANA YANG

15th Amendment

Section 1- The right of citizens of the United States to votes shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.

Section 2- The congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

The 15th amendment means every American should have the right to vote, no matter your race, color, or under service or labor as a punishment.

FRANK VS. WISCONSIN

  • 87 year old, Ruthelle Frank
  • Since Frank is older and the left half of her body is paralyzed, she has no ID.
  • She does have a birth certificate but there is a spelling error. To get it fixed would be about $200

FRANK VS. WISCONSIN

  • All the way back in 2011 and to this very day.
  • Wisconsin changed their voting law so you need an Id and a photo.

FRANK HAS BEEN VOTING SINCE SHE WAS 21.

  • Frank hasn't missed voting since she was 21 (it was different back then)
  • The court told her to...

Frank's case is related to the 15th Amendment because every American should have the right to vote, even if you don't have a photo.

Actually, no Frank didn't do anything unpopular. She stood up for what she believes in. A lot of people are standing with or for her.

I agree with Ruthelle. Just because she does not have a picture doesn't mean anything. It affects others' lives because they might not be able to drive, which means no photo or ID.
