Rule Of Law

  • The government and its officials and agents as well as individuals and private entities are accountable under the law. The laws are clear, publicized, stable, and justice are applied evenly and protect fundamental rights, including the security of persons and property and certain core human rights.
  • In my own words the rule of law were rules that were put in place to punish everybody.

Magna Carta

  • Magna Carta, signed by the King of England in 1215, was a turning point in human rights. The Magna Carta, was arguably the most significant early influence on the extensive historical process that led to the rule of constitutional law today in the English-speaking world.
  • in my own words it was like the checks and balences.

English Bill Of Rights

  • The English Bill of Rights is an act that the Parliament of England passed on December 16, 1689. The Bill creates separation of powers, limits the powers of the king and queen, enhances the democratic election and bolsters freedom of speech.
  • in my own words this gives the colonist more freedom.

how the colonist felt:

  • they didnt like it because they didnt have a say so

Examples:

  • Magna Carta- The British Library
  • English Bill of Rights- Decaration of independence
