KINGS AND QUEENS

  • Kings and queens are at the top of the status chain
  • Kings and queens often lived in castles
  • Kings and queens often ruled over large amounts of land

BISHOPS AND BARONS

  • Bishops and barons were second in the staus chain.
  • Bishops were considered higher than barons, but they are still in the same catagory
  • These men took care of churches and cathedrals

ARCHDEACONS,LORDS, AND LADIES

  • Archdeacons were considered higher than lords
  • Lords and Ladies were often very rich

MONKS AND KNIGHTS

  • Monks were like poor preists
  • Knights were considered higher than monks
  • Knights usually had different ranks

  • Servants had their own rights
  • Servants could buy their freedom
  • Servants were at the top of the peasant pyramid

LABORERS AND PEASANTS

  • Laborers were higher than peasants
  • Laborers had to work to get money, but were often comfortable
  • Peasants were the poorest people in a medieval city
