FIVE PILLARS OF FAITH

  • the five pillars of Faith
  • Pray Daily facing Makkah
  • Must acknowledge that Allah is the only God and Allah is his prophet.
  • Make a pilgrimage to Makkah at least once in their lives
  • Contribute alms to the weak and poor and Fast during the month of Ramadan
Muhammad's followers forced elites to adopt Muhammad's faith and imposed governments dedicated to Allah. His faith and leadership shaped the values and development of Islamic community. this led to the five pillars of faith.

The Five Pillars of Faith are,
1) Must acknowledge that Allah is the only God and Allah is his prophet.
2) Make a pilgrimage to Makkah at least once in their lives.
3) Contribute alms to the weak and poor.
4) Fast during the month of Ramadan
5) Pray Daily facing Makkah.

People were punished if they did not follow the five pillars, and the punishments varied in each country.

Some of the effects of the five pillars of faith were, the country became more theologically organized due to the fact that people had to follow the strict rules.

Sharia Law

  • The Law elaborated Muhammad's life teachings.
  • gives guidance on things such as marriage, family life, slavery, business, political authority, and crime
  • Islam became more of a religious doctrine, it became more political
  • The Sharia Law is the moral code and religious law of Islam
The Sharia Law is the moral code and religious law of Islam. After Muhammed, the Law was put in to place and it offered detailed guidance on every behavior and almost every aspect of life.

The Law elaborated Muhammad's life teachings. Many of its points were from the Quran.
Specifically, it gives guidance on things such as marriage, family life, slavery, business, political authority, and crime
