Not many people know this but the person who wrote this musical actually found the inspiration to write this from a beautiful young widow he had met along with her four children.

The musical explores the power of imagination to open up new worlds, and the pressures put upon those worlds by the assureness of growing up.

Also most people don't know that most of the time Peter is actually played by a female figure. This is because he has to sing very high because he is still a boy but most men can't get the part.

The musical is much much different then the book or movie. In fact most people say they enjoyed that it was different rather than the usual Peter Pan. The story of Peter Pan is well known in most American households.
