Step 1

Evaporation
-when the sun heats up, water in rivers, lakes, and oceans turn into vapor and then leaves into the sky

Step 2

Transpiration
-process by which plants lose water out of their leaves
-helps the process of evaporation

Step 3

Sublimation
-the process of snow and ice changing into water vapor in the air without first melting into water

Step 4

Condensation
-water vapor in the air gets cold and changes back into liquid, forming clouds

Step 5

Transportation
-movement of water around the planet as rivers and oceans

Step 6

Precipitation
-occurs when so much water has condensed that the air cannot hold it anymore
-the clouds get heavy and release the water making rain

Step 7

Deposition
-opposite of sublimation
-water vapor changes directly in tow ice and snow

Step 8

Infiltration
-water on the ground surface enters the soil

Step 9

Surface Flow
-flow of water beneath Earth's surface
