WHAT IS STRESS?

  • Stress is a state of mental tension and worry caused by problems in your life, work, etc.

15 CAUSES OF STRESS

  • Crammed schedules - getting everything crammed up in a day/time
  • Not having enough sleep - have to much stuff to get rest
  • Being in a rush - never wants to be late
  • Sports - they make you think weather you're going to win/ lose the game
  • Academic - they give you stress by trying to raise your grades
  • Relationships/Dating - thinking too much of what your partner is doing
  • Traumatic events - trying to face you're fear
  • Family problems - going through a divorce
  • Bullying - scared of what he/she can do next
  • Moving - making new friends
  • Job application - worrying if you get the job
  • Body figure - wants to have a good looking body
  • Driving too soon - worrying how you're driving/passengers
  • Drama - fighting with friends or over a guy
  • Parents goals/expectations - thinking you're unable to reach their goals/expectations

  • Meditation~builds deep breathing & takes your brain to a function similar to sleep
  • Yoga~it helps you clear your mind
  • Music~lowers blood pressure, relaxes your body/mind
  • Talk to a friend/person~talk about your problems
  • Massage~relaxes muscles, reduces pain and improves circulation
  • Aromatherapy~inhaling certain scents, raises mood, reducing anxiety & concentration
  • Decorate with lavender~ lower heart rate/ blood pressure
  • Take a walk~ targets tension and the body's relaxation
  • Draw/paint~reduces stress, related behavior/symptoms
