Originally served the Confederate Army
In True Grit, Rooster Cogburn was once a raider
Attacked and looted the city of Lawrence, Kansas
William died at the young age of 27

AT ACTUSLLY HAPPENED VS. THE MYTH
Contrary to popular belief, the Old West was much more peaceful than thought
People think this due to movies making it appear so
It glorified it significantly, despite what actually happened
Some of the violence comes from robberies that were common then and stolen livestock
Mostly due to land issues with Natives
