Responsible use

Policy & Training
Seymour Community Schools will conduct training with all students.

Students will be asked to take a pass a responsible use assessment prior to use of technology.

You can access all documents related to our policies on the technology website: www.scsc.k12.in.us, under faculty and then technology

Technology is not a toy and not something used as a reward. It is a valuable tool to increase engagement and achievement.

Passwords

Passwords Protect Your Privacy
Seymour Community Schools strives to protect the privacy of all students.

Passwords are unique to individual students.
We expect students to keep their password(s) confidential. They are not to be shared or borrowed from others.

Remind your child to log out of the computers and programs used.

Never ask a program to remember a password.

Students could have multiple passwords. Work with your child on a secure way to manage passwords.

Safety & Protection

Filters/Access/Acceptable Sites
We expect students to use the device as intended. Students will not disrupt or harm the schools computers or network.

The school utilizes a filter to guard against harmful sites. It is not perfect, therefore, parent supervision is crucial.

Again internet safety is vital.
Be sure you discuss:
...Screen Names: Do not include personal information.
....Photos: Permission is need to take/post pictures/videos of any kind
....Downloading: Never open attachments from people you don't know
....Student Email Addresses

What if I don't have internet at home?
Internet Access Options:
>>Home Service
>>Library/Local Restaurants
>>Working Offline
>>School Parking Lots

In the future, you could see schools open hours before or after school to accommodate the needs of our families.

This code takes you to a resource site for this initiative called, Campus Cloud. Here you will find information, tutorials, and Frequently Asked Question references. We are hoping to build resources to keep you informed of our progress.

We know you all still have questions....We still have questions. We are going to provide you time now to ask us. We will do our best to provide you with an answer. As we've said, we are learning along with you...
