PRESENTATION OUTLINE

SYMBIOTIC RELATIONSHIPS

HAWAIIAN BOBTAIL AND SQUID BIOLUMINASCENT BACTERIA

  • The hawaiian bobtail and the squid bioluminescent bacteria have mutualism
  • Mutualism is beneficial to both organisms involved

WHERE ARE THEY FOUND

  • Hawaiin bobtails are found in central pacific ocean.
  • Squid bioluminescent bacteria is found mostly in sea waters.

HOW DO THEY GET THERE ENEGRY

  • Hawaiian bobtails get thier enegry from feeding on fish
  • Squid biolumiminescent bacteria gets its enegry from feeding on sugar and amino acid

WHAT IS EACH ORGANISMS ROLE IN THE RELATIONSHIP

  • The bacteria feeds on sugar amino acid solution by the squid and in return hides the squids silhouet

REEF LIZARD FISH AND CLEANER WRASSE

  • Reef lizard fish and a cleaner wrasse have mutualism
  • Mutualism is beneficial to both organisms

WHERE ARE THEY FOUND

  • Reef lizard fish are found in the pacific and the indian ocean
  • Cleaner wrasse lives in eastern africa in the red sea

HOW DO THEY GET THERE ENERGY

  • Reef lilard fish will not eat meat
  • Cleaner wrasse eats meaty foods mutiple times per day

EACH ORGANISM ROLE ?

  • THE SYMBIOSIS DOES NOT BREAK DOWN BEAK DOWN BECAUSE THE ABUNDANCE OF THESE PARASITes varies significantly seasonally and spatially

SPONGECRAB AND SEA SPONGE

  • The symbiotic relationship between a spongecrab and a sea sponge is mutualism
  • Mutualism is beneficial to both organisms

WHERE ARE THEY FOUND

  • Spongecrab is found from namibian border , south african coast to sodwana bay
  • Sea sponge is foud in the fresh water environments

HOW DO THEY GET THERE ENERGY

  • Sponge crabs are scavenger eating dead plants and animals that comes across its path
  • Sea sponges catch live food

EACH ORGANISMS ROLE

  • Each species tends to evolve adaptations to the other that is they coevolve in order to maximize benefits and minimize losses caused.
