Implicit/Hidden Curriculum

  • Learning that is not intended, but occurs
  • Some of the "lessons" we teach, may not always be positive..

Null Curriculum

  • This is everything that is not taught or is missing from the curriculum.
  • I thought this was important because often what is NOT taught has a powerful impact in a positive or negative way.

Special Interest Groups

  • Todays students are tomorrow's consumers.
  • Businesses and other groups offer free and attractive materials that espouse their own views.

  • It is important that teachers and students are aware of bias so that students emerge with a well-rounded background to make their own opinions and decisions.
