Ok. Let's get started!

Untitled Slide

First, log into your Haiku Deck account.

You can start from your Gallery page. Hover over your Vision Board deck and click on the Export button.

Or, click on the Edit button (pencil) to open your deck.

In this example, I'm using Rosa's Body-Brain Rebalancing Program deck as an example.

Untitled Slide

Once you've clicked "Export", you'll see this.

Choose a Category.

Then click on PPT (PowerPoint) even if you're using Apple's Keynote presentation tool.

Name and Save File

Now you'll need to name and save your Vision Board deck.

Hint: I like to save to Desktop. It speeds up my workflow.

If file opens... cool!

If your file opens in Keynote, that's terrific.

You can proceed without going further.

Proceed with Keynote

(Or PowerPoint if you use that)
Apple Keynote is an amazingly versatile tool but it can be complicated.

Call me if you absolutely cannot solve a problem on your own.

The rest of this deck covers what to do if your file will NOT open.

But if not

here's what to do :-) (in Keynote)
Keep calm!

We've got you covered.

Untitled Slide

You will see this dialogue box.

Click "OK".

You will be taken back to your desktop interface.

Untitled Slide

Find your downloaded PPT deck.

Right click on it.

(Hint: if you can't right click, go to "File" and choose "Open With").

Choose "Open With".

Then choose "Keynote (5.3).

Hint: This is an earlier version of Keynote that Haiku Deck plays nicely with.

Many Apple Operating Systems have two versions of Keynote running: the older and the newest.

For whatever reason, in these cases, Haiku Deck will open in the older version but not the newer one.

Untitled Slide

Your deck is now open as a Keynote presentation.

Click the Inspector button (1) to open the Inspector Window.

WithIn the Inspector Window, click the Document Inspector button (2) to open the Document Inspector window.

Within the Document Inspector window, click the Audio Button (3)

Click the iTunes Library button to open all media files stored on your computer.

In this instance, I clicked "Music".

From your music files, select the one that makes your heart sing.

Drag it to the Soundtrack box in your Document Inspector window.

Your audio file is now uploaded to your deck.

Hint: press the play button to check it is working.

Extra Hint: your Haiku Deck slides will display as images in Keynote.

You cannot manipulate text boxes or images already written in Haiku Deck.

However, you can add text boxes, shapes, other images and media as overlays on the "images".

This allows you to take full advantage of all Keynote's amazing animations.

Add whatever you want to each slide.

Warning: don't overcomplicate it. Aim for Zen-like simplicity and elegance!

Untitled Slide

Your final step is to convert your incredible Vision Deck into a movie.

You have a lot of options here.

Recommendation: Convert to Quicktime movie format first.

Click "Share".

Then click "Quicktime".

Untitled Slide

Check that the QuickTime box is highlighted (top).

in the "Playback Uses" dropdown menu, select "Fixed Timing".

Make sure the two check boxes beneath are ticked.

Wait! There's one more step...

Untitled Slide

Next you want to format your movie.

Recommendation: Use CD-ROM Medium quality.

It will look fine on large screens and awesome on small ones.

It will render nicely on YouTube and other video hosting sites (if you go that way).

But it won't take forever to render or upload.

Now, you can click the "Next" button.

Untitled Slide

All you need to do now is give your cinematic masterpiece a name and a home.

Then click the "Export" button.

Pour a nice cup of tea or a well-deserved glass of something uplifting while your slide deck is transformed into a glorious Digital Vision Board.

"Put your feet up, Sybil!"

You deserve a break.
