LOUIS ZAMPERINI

May 1943-
Army Air Force bomber crashes into the Pacific Ocean and disappears.

Soon after the plane crash, a face appeared on the surface. The person was struggling to get a life preserver.
The boy in the water was Lieutenant Louis Zamperini.
He was on the plane when it went down. He, along with a few others, managed to survive the crash and being lost at sea for about 48 days, before being rescued.

LIFE

• In his childhood, Louis was often breaking into houses and getting into fights
• In his teenage years, he channeled that anger into running
• He had an amazing talent that soon gave him the opportunity to run in the 1936 Berlin Olympics
• When the war came around, Louis stopped running to join the Air Force
