Overwhelming municipal waste streams.
Making matters worse, the largest purchase or US recycled material, China will no longer be purchasing foreign recycled materials starting in January of 2018.

Responding to the challenges cities are looking for new buyers of their waste material, and are looking to their waste to re-enter the economy as new products.

For example the City of Phoenix has partnered with ASU to create a circular economy incubator space called RISN.

Their mission is to support companies that help divert material from the landfill.

So given the enviornmental and econmic impact plastic is having on our cites. What if we could take a plastic water bottle and turn it into something useful such as fabric?
