POPULAR CULTURE

  • McDonald's is a fast food chain that originated in the U.S, but has quickly spread to countries throughout the world.
  • This is a picture showing just how many countries have McDonald's across the nation.
  • This topic relates to the Social & Economic aspects of PERSIA. To most people, eating is a social event. When an idea/chain spreads from one place to another, let alone countries, it can be a pretty rare thing. I also think it's economic. By having these fast food restaurants all over the world, lots of money is made.

COMMUNICATION

  • Since most people have smartphones and the Internet, they can almost instantly be updated about locations and news locally or around the world.
  • This is a picture of an iPhone, the best selling smartphone in the world.
  • I think this relates to the Social aspect of PERSIA. I think this because communication is a social thing, and so are updates of foreign countries/states.

ECONOMY

  • Many American software companies sell merchandise in other countries to make larger profits.
  • This is a picture of an ad of the new iPhone 7 in Saudi Arabia.
  • This topic is an example of the Economic/Social aspects of PERSIA. It is economic because the selling of iPhones make a big profit, and it is Social because iPhones are a big social trend in the U.S., but also in other countries.

PROS

  • Advanced medicines are available to people who can't afford them/don't have access to them.
  • Many people have been lifted out of poverty thanks to jobs linked to globalization.
  • This is a picture of a group of African girls that got shot vaccinations that would most likely not have access to them if it weren't for globalization.

CONS

  • Some people fear that "everyone will end up eating hamburgers and watching Hollywood movies".
  • People think that they will pick up things from other countries cultures and leave their own cultures behind.
  • This is an image of people in China lining up for McDonalds; a very unhealthy fast food chain of America.
