Energy Audit

Tracking Where You Currently Spend Your Effort
Keep a diary for a set period, from one day to a week, just tracking what you're doing and for how long.

This isn't the time to evaluate your habits. This is just to let you know where your time is going.

Ways to Say No

  • Delegate to appropriate person.
  • Recommend a better fit.
  • Say you're too busy.
  • Say you're not interested.

Saying No to Your Boss:
"How would you like me to prioritize these projects?" or "Could we spread out the workload for this to a team?"

It's not a no, it's a collaborative process. Having a conversation about your job duties and projects allows your supervisor to align your work with the strategic needs of the department or organization.

Don't just pile on an assignment and complain--be proactive in managing your workload!
