SOUTH EAST ASIA

  • The Mekong River is the world's 12th longest river.
  • This river runs through China's Yunnan province.
  • It is an important trading route linking between western China and Southeast Asia.
  • It includes 20,000 plant species, 430 mammals, 1,200 birds, 800 reptiles and amphibians, and an estimated 850 fish.

SOUTH EAST ASIA

  • The Deccan Plateau is a large plateau in India making up the southern part of it.
  • Is located between the mountain ranges of Western Ghats and Eastern Ghats.
  • The plateau forms a triangle pointing downward at the coastline.
  • Most of the Deccan Plateau's rivers flow south.

AUSTRALIA

  • The Great Barrier Reef is the worlds largest coral reef system.
  • It has over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands.
  • It is located in the Coral Sea off the shore of Queensland, Australia.
  • Tourism here generates about 3 million dollars a year.

AUSTRALIA

  • The Great Victoria Desert is the largest desert in Australia.
  • Thunderstorms are normal here and range from 15 to 20 in an annum.
  • Some human activity here has been mining and nuclear weapons testing.
  • Some animals that live here are large birds or mammals, lizards, and small marsupials.

NEW ZEALAND

  • Castle hill is a location and hi station in new Zealand's South Island.
  • It was named because of the high limestone boulders looking like an old castle.
  • It is a well known rock climbing area in New Zealand.
  • Castle Hill is where they filmed the Final Battle scenes in The Chronicles of Narnia.

MELANESIA

  • Solomon Islands is a sovereign country that consists of large number of islands in Oceania.
  • It's Capitol is Honiara located on the island of Guadalcanal.
  • The first inhabitants of the Islands were the Spanish in 1568.
  • For Social media there they are highly relied on radio.

MICRONESIA

  • The Mariana Islands are arc-shaped island chains that are made up by the summits of 15 volcanic mountains.
  • These islands were named after the Spanish Queen Marina of Austria.
  • The islands are sparsely wooded and the vegetation is dense.
  • Earthquakes are not uncommon and there are craters showing signs of them.

POLYNESIA

  • Tahiti is the largest island in all the islands of Polynesia.
  • It was formed by volcanic activity and is high and mountainous.
  • November to April is its wet season, but the wettest month is January.
  • Tahiti has 3,200 students and 62 scholars in their school system.

OTHER FEATURE

  • Cathedral Cove is a marine reserve located n the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand.
  • It is named after the huge cave that is located there.
  • This area is very full of tourists and receives about 1,500 tourists a year.
  • The cave there is used in the Narnia movies for the children to re-enter Narnia.

OTHER FEATURE

  • Wood hill Forest is a commercial crown forest located to the Northwest of Auckland, New Zealand.
  • This location is popular for a number of recreational activities like horseback riding, bike riding, and mountain biking.
  • The land was originally covered in dense vegetation but with the British arrival their farms created erosion.
  • To revive the vegetation the Sand Drift Act was in place to restore the vegetation by laying sand.
