Everyday we face a long list of things we need, and need to do; a list that seems to only perpetually grow longer.

-It starts with a list of things we need. Like food, water, clothing, and shelter. Basic necessities.

-Then we have a list of things we need, and or need to do in order to achieve, and or acquire, and maintain the original list of needs. Such as income, money, skills, education, relationships, transportation, resources.

-Lastly we have a list of wants that can often feel like needs. (Sometimes they actually are needs.) These are our dreams, and ambitions, our desires. Perhaps marriage, children, business, career, vocation, artistic endeavors.

All these things can easily become overwhelming, which is why the word has plenty to say about work, and worry.

ambition, motive, intention

  • Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
  • Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
In the Christian faith the way up is down. The key to victory is surrender.

Matthew 23:12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Why Worrying is wack

  • It will never make you taller. Matthew 6:27 Can any of you add a single cubit to his height by worrying?
  • Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

The kingdom of God & His righteousness says it is better to give than to receive.

When we adopt Godly principle into our lives, our intentions change, and subsequently our work (To do list) becomes more fulfilling, and rewarding.

Luke 10:38-41
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.

But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
