PRESENTATION OUTLINE

The Equal Protection Clause

BY SAMI CONLIN - PERIOD 2

The African Americans were not being treated equally, even after the 13th Ammendment. The Southern States passed laws called the Black Codes. These Codes restricted African Americans freedom and the ability to earn a decent wage.

The 14th Ammendment was created in 1868 to further protect African Americans and their rights as citizens of America.

John Bingham was known as the "Father of the 14th Ammendment," for framing the 14th Ammendment.
